Borrowing money as a starting entrepreneur: the possibilities | Business loan

If you are going to start a business and you can use some starting capital, there are different ways to borrow money as a starting entrepreneur. To give you a clear picture of the borrowing options that you have as a starting entrepreneur, three borrowing options are described in this article.

Option 1: a loan from the bank

Option 1: a loan from the bank

Most banks have special loans to start a business. Not all starting entrepreneurs receive a loan from the bank to start their own business, but it is certainly possible to raise starting capital in this way. If you want to borrow money from the bank for your company, then you need a good business plan.

Option 2: microfinance

Option 2: microfinance

Microfinance is also referred to as microcredit and is a scheme that is pre-eminently intended for starting entrepreneurs. In our country, microfinance is regulated by the Qcredits company, where you as a starting entrepreneur can borrow a maximum of 50,000 euros. Advantage: there are few requirements for your income or assets. Disadvantage: you have to pay high interest to be able to receive the loan, namely 10 percent per year. If you think this interest is too high, it is better to request a loan from the bank. There are more conditions attached to this, but the interest is lower. Note: microcredit is different from a mini-loan, such as you can take out with AskMeLoan, for example.

Option 3: crowdfunding

Option 3: crowdfunding

With crowdfunding you actually do not borrow money, but you get money from various investors who want something in return. This can be interest, but it can also be a share, a certain part of the profit or a simple present. In addition, there are also some private investors who do not really want anything in return for their investment through crowdfunding, but simply grant money to starting entrepreneurs. They only invest in companies and entrepreneurs that they really believe in and have money for.
